Two of the Austin Bar Association’s Law Day contestants have gone on to compete and win in the statewide competition with the State Bar of Texas.

Congratulations to Angela Kang, an 11th grade student at Bowie High School for winning first place in the state for her essay on the importance and significance of the Magna Carta.

Also — congratulations to kindergarten student, Ava Martinez, for placing third in the statewide competition for her poster on the Magna Carta with the theme, “I am free to go to school.” Martinez attends Northwest Elementary School.

The Essay/Poster contests are held in conjunction with nationally-recognized Law Day. The Austin Bar Association will celebrate its Law Day with a luncheon on Thursday, April 30. For more information on tickets, please click here.
