Don’t Forget to Vote in State Bar Elections — Austin Bar Member Running for President-Elect

Austin Bar member, Randy Howry, a partner at Howry, Breen & Herman, is a candidate for President-Elect of the State Bar of Texas.  Ballots have been sent to all State Bar members and voting will take place until April 30.randy howry

Howry is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law and Civil Trial Law and has 25 years of experience representing individuals and businesses as a litigator. Howry has a solid reputation as one of the top trial attorneys in the state – Texas Monthly has recognized him as a Super Lawyer every year since 2003; he has been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2006; and he has received the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating every year since 1995.

Howry served as Austin Bar president from 2005 – 2006 and president of the Austin Bar Foundation from 2006 – 2007.  He is an active member of the State Bar of Texas, serving on the Board of Directors from 2007 – 2010, and as Chair of  Affordable Legal Services and Insurance Member Benefits, as well as an advisor to the GP Solo and Small Firm Section. He has been a member and Panel Chair of the District 9A Grievance Committee and has been a Texas Bar Foundation Fellow since 2006.

He is also a member of the following professional organizations: American Board of Trial Advocates (Fellow), American Trial Lawyers Association, Austin Bar Association, Austin Bar Foundation (Founding Fellow), International Association of Defense Counsel, South Texas School of Law Alumni Board of Directors, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, The Texas Center for Legal Ethics & Professionalism, and the Williamson County Bar Association.

Howry is also an active participant in the Austin Chamber of Commerce, Real Estate Council of Austin, Texas Beta Student Aid Fund, and West Austin Youth Association.

He earned his J.D. from the South Texas College of Law in 1985, after earning his Bachelor of  Journalism degree from the University of Texas in 1980.

Howry is running against Frank Stevenson, a partner at Locke Lord Edwards in Dallas.
