Upcoming Security Changes at Heman Marion Sweatt Courthouse

HMS Security Update: State Bar Cards May Be Used for ID  (2/2/16)

Attorneys may show their Travis County ID card if they have one, or their State Bar card, to gain access to the HMS Courthouse via the Priority Access Lane at the west door entrance (facing CJC).

As of Feb. 1, 100 percent security screenings are now required for anyone entering the HMS Courthouse. Attorneys may apply for a Travis County ID card during their birth month. Click here for an attorney ID card application.

Effective Feb. 1, 2016, the following changes will be implemented to enhance security at the Heman Marion Sweatt Travis County Courthouse:HMS COURT RELEASE

• 100% security screening will be required for anyone entering the building. This includes anyone displaying Travis County-issued ID cards.

• The East Door (facing Guadalupe Street) will be accessible to anyone entering the building (public, attorneys, and county staff).

• The West Door (facing the CJC) will be the Priority Access Line (PAL) and is restricted to people who display valid Travis County-issued ID cards only (e.g. county staff, attorneys, etc).
