Announcement for the election of the criminal defense attorney member to the Travis County Bail Bond Board

Pursuant to Section 1704.0535 of the Texas Occupations Code, any attorney who practices criminal law in Travis County may apply for a place on the ballot as the defense attorney representative who is a member of the Travis County Bail Bond Board. An application to be placed on the ballot is available here: https://www.traviscountytx.gov/bail-bond-board. The application must be completed and submitted to Vickie Riojas, secretary for the Travis County Bail Bond Board, by delivering it to her at the Executive Office Building, 411 W. 13th St., Room 601, or by emailing it to her at vickie.riojas@traviscountytx.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2016.

The election for the criminal defense attorney representative to the Bail Bond Board will be conducted at the monthly meeting of the Austin Criminal Defense Lawyers Association at noon on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, on the first floor of the AFL-CIO building located at 1106 Lavaca Street, Austin, Texas. Results will be tabulated and announced at the December 7, 2016, meeting of the Travis County Bail Bond Board. Any attorney who has a principal place of business in Travis County, and who is not legally prohibited from representing criminal defendants in Travis County, is entitled to cast one vote to elect the board member who is the criminal defense attorney representative.
