Honorable Lee Yeakel IP Inn of Court Concludes 2nd Year of Mentorship Program

The Honorable Lee Yeakel Intellectual Property Inn of Court in Austin, Texas, recently wrapped up its second  mentorship program.  The yearly program pairs each law student member of the Inn with an experienced master or barrister in his or her area of interest.  The mentors and mentees are encouraged to correspond and meet regularly, and are also invited to attend a mentorship dinner sponsored by the Inn.

This year’s dinner was held on March 30, 2017.  In addition to the mentors and mentees, attendees included U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman, U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark Lane, and Dirk Jordan—all of whom spoke about the importance of mentorship in their own careers and answered questions from the students.  Several attendees commented on the value  of this type of mentorship program to the legal community, and some law students said the dinner was their favorite Inn event to date.
