One Volunteer Opportunity with Pick Me! A Jury of My Peers this Week
Do you have an hour of free time this week? The award-winning program has an opening this week that needs to be filled quickly:
- Wednesday, April 7 - 11:25 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. - Liberal Arts & Science Academy - 1 Attorney
The response by the teachers, students, lawyers, and judges has been overwhelmingly positive. Two attorneys and one judge are needed for each classroom to conduct a mock voir dire. It is imperative that we fill these spots and keep our commitment to each class.
There are plenty more volunteer opportunities through Friday, April 16. Click here to sign up to volunteer and view other open dates. For more information or questions, please contact Brooke Williams at 472-0279 ext. 108 or Brooke@austinbar.org.

This seminar will provide information to assist attorneys who do not ordinarily handle cases of this type. Attendees will become aware of practices, procedures, and statutory enactments that will help them to assist clients with legal problems resulting from their illness. Information will also be provided on how attorneys can become advocates for breast cancer patients.
The panel will address a number of legal issues related to a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, including insurance coverage and ERISA issues, labor and employment issues, public benefits, and a comprehensive review of a hypothetical patient’s case.
