The Red Cross Needs Your Help!

Texas has experienced its worst flooding in over 50 years, and the Red Cross has been there to help. The Red Cross has responded to floods across Texas - from Wichita Falls down to Harlingen, including the severe flooding here in Central Texas. Current cost estimates for statewide Red Cross flood response are around $4 million, and they need our help!

The Red Cross is asking Austin Bar Association members to consider helping the victims of thousands of disasters across the country each year, disasters like the Texas floods, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. This fund enables the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to the victims of disaster.

To donate:

  • Go online to http://www.firstgiving.com/austinbar. After you make a donation, you will receive an automatic email confirming your donation.
  • If you prefer, you can mail your donation by check to Austin Bar member and member of the board of the Red Cross of Central Texas, Kurt Kuhn. Mailed donations should be made payable to the “American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund” and should be sent to Kurt Kuhn at Brown McCarroll, 111 Congress, Suite 1400, Austin, Texas, 78701.

The Red Cross honors donor intent – if you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster, please do so at the time of your donation.

For any questions, contact Adrian Loucks, Director of Development for the Red Cross of Central Texas at (512) 929-1229.
