Online Bench Book Brings Judges to Your Fingertips

The Austin Bar Association is proud to announce the launch of the online Travis County Bench Book: Court Resource Guide.

For Austin Bar members only, the new online resource provides profiles on local district, county, and federal judges; links to local rules and court Web sites; and various other types of information. The judicial profiles include questionnaires developed by the Austin Bar Judicial Affairs Committee and completed by each individual judge. Answers address issues about how to file various motions in a specific court, voir dire procedures, court decorum, staff contacts, preferences, and pet peeves.

Austin Bar members can visit the Austin Bar Web site at www.austinbar.org, click on the "Member Area" button at the right end of the top navigation menu bar. Once you are logged in, click on the "Bench Book" button on the left navigation bar. The online Bench Book allows members to view the information on-screen, print out individual profiles, or download the guide in its entirety.

If you have any questions or comments about this new resource guide, please contact Kat Hinson at 472-0279, x107 or Kat@austinbar.org.
