Administrative Law Section CLE

Topic: Intersection of Occupational Licensing and Criminal Law
Speakers: Ken Sharp, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation; Joseph Marcee, Law Office of Joseph Marcee

The presentation will provide an explanation of  (A) the various types of criminal case dispositions, such as convictions and deferred adjudications; (B) the availability of non-disclosure orders and expunctions; (C) the relevant occupational licensing provisions of Chapter 53 of the Texas Occupations Code with respect to non-conviction dispositions of criminal cases and how those non-convictions may be treated as convictions for determination of occupational license eligibility; and (D) the applicability of specific program statutes for certain occupations.
