Austin Bar Foundation

Supporting and expanding the provision of legal-related charitable and education programs in Central Texas.

About the Foundation and its Mission

Created in 2003, the Austin Bar Foundation is the charitable arm of the Austin Bar Association, working to improve public awareness of the legal system, the administration of justice, and the delivery of legal services. Through the generous tax-deductable donations of the legal community, the Foundation supports legal services to low-income Texans, legal education programs, and assistance to lawyers in need.

In 2012, the Foundation began its grant program, providing funding to area organizations for law-related projects. To date, the Foundation has presented over $70,000 in grants. Click here for information on past grant recipients and for how to apply for a grant.

In addition to the annual Foundation Gala and various small fundraisers throughout the year, the programs of the Foundation are supported by Fellows, Life Fellows, and Sustaining Fellows. These generous individuals are recognized annually in the Austin Lawyer publication and at the gala. Join the Fellows Program today.

2014 Foundation Gala

Celebrating the theme “Austin City Lawyers: Going Local with the Bar,” close to 500 attorneys, judges, friends, and family gathered in early February for the Austin Bar Foundation’s 11th Annual Gala. Through the generosity of the legal community and numerous donations for an auction, the event raised $80,000!
