Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law since 1993, Figueroa has been in solo practice since 2003 in San Antonio, where he specialized in state and federal litigation, representing individuals and businesses in civil trial matters and handling appeals in state and federal courts. He was previously a partner in Jackson Walker’s litigation section in San Antonio and prior to that, he was a shareholder at Campos, Figueroa, Barrera & Harvey, P.C.

“Leo meets all of the unique qualities the Executive Director role requires,” said R. Hal Moorman, TBLS Chair. “He possesses the qualities of a strong administrator, which is crucial given the responsibility for overseeing the certification process and working with the Texas Supreme Court and State Bar of Texas. He has a deep understanding of the changing dynamics of the legal industry and a vision for how to lead TBLS to continued success amid those changes. He embodies TBLS’ mission to serve in the best interest of the public and understands and appreciates the processes of attaining and maintaining Board Certification.”

Figueroa was unanimously selected by the TBLS Board Members and officially starts his new position today.

“I’m honored to take on this role and work with the strong, tenured team at TBLS to continue the track record of success for which the organization is known,” said Figueroa. “Our industry continues to change and TBLS will continue to adapt with it, seeking opportunity to engage with attorneys in new ways, such as digital channels, while always keeping our mission of serving the best interest of the public at the forefront.”

Figueroa graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law with distinction in the top 10 percent of his class after attaining an undergraduate degree in political science from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
