Austin Bar Foundation LGBT Law Student Scholarship

2021 APPLICATION DEADLINE is June 4, 2021

The Austin Bar Foundation and the LGBT Law Section of the Austin Bar Association are honored to announce the Foundation’s sixth annual LGBT Scholarship. The Foundation will award two (2) $3,000 scholarships to two (2) current law students, including 2021 undergrad graduates, enrolled at a Texas law school. The award is intended to help defray expenses of pursuing a law school education.

Eligible students must be enrolled at a public or private law school physically located in the State of Texas and have demonstrated some commitment or contribution to the LGBT community or LGBT legal issues. This criterion will be broadly construed to include activities consistent with the Austin Bar’s LGBT Law Section’s purposes of promoting education on issues relating to LGBT law, raising the profile and acceptance of LGBT individuals within the legal community, and promoting LGBT equality. The selection committee will also consider each applicant’s academic record and educational debt burden/financial need.

To apply, CLICK HERE to download the application form. Complete the form and submit it, along with a current copy of your transcript (official or unofficial), resume, statement of financial need, and, most importantly, a statement of commitment or contribution to the LGBT community or LGBT legal issues to:, subject line: LGBT Scholarship 2021.
