AYLA Legal Resource Fair
We are proud of AYLA’s quarterly legal clinics at Community First Village this year and the involvement of AYLA members at our clinics in October and MLK Day of Service. Because of AYLA members’ volunteer efforts, we have helped more than 160 residents complete valuable life documents. On Saturday April 6, 10:00 to 2:00, our third legal clinic will be a longer legal resource fair. AYLA will again be providing direct legal help to CFV residents by assisting residents to complete life documents. AYLA has also organized a presentation of several legal organizations–including Lawyer Referral Service of Central Texas, Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, Travis County Law Library, and free expunction assistance–and time to meet with each organization. We will also have several community organizations present to assist CFV residents, a clothing closet, and we will distribute donations of much needed personal supplies to each resident.
You can help support our upcoming legal clinic/resource fair by:
- donating men’s and women’s clothing
- donating cleaning supplies, CLICK HERE for the Amazon wish list
- volunteering on Saturday April 6
We have several ways you can volunteer at the April legal clinic/resource fair. Join the AYLA board and other AYLA members by assisting in the clothing closet, helping to organize and distribute bags of supplies to the residents, helping CFV residents during the fair to navigate the different legal resources, or providing direct legal assistance by helping CFV residents complete life documents and by providing more general legal advice for residents. We will also help CFV serve lunch. Please contact Debbie Kelly if you would like to help with the April legal resource fair or if you would like to arrange to drop off cleaning supplies or clothes, email@example.com.
