Topic: Public Charge Under the New Rule
Speakers: Anita Gupta, Staff Attorney at Immigrant Legal Resource Center;  Karen Crawford, Law Office of Karen J. Crawford; Cheasty Anderson, Senior Policy Associate at Children’s Defense Fund

Your role as an attorney/legal services provider is critical to ensuring immigrants understand the new public charge rule and how it affects them. This presentation will focus on helping you understand changes made to public charge, who is impacted, and how to screen and advise clients. We will cover the public charge rule of inadmissibility for cases before the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of State. We will also provide an update on the pending litigation challenging the new public charge rule and the impact of the rule for families in Texas.
