CLE Celebrating 100 Years of Women’s Suffrage
TCWLA is co-hosting, along with the Austin Bar, the Austin Black Lawyers Association, and the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin, a CLE to celebrate 100 years of women gaining the right to vote. Please join us for an hour-long celebration of the fight to achieve equality in voting on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
The speaker panel includes Maria Medina Milner, 2nd Vice President – Community Relations and Equity and Inclusion, and Moriah Powers, President, both of the League of Women Voters, and Bruce Elfant, Travis County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar. We will discuss the history of women’s suffrage and current and future issues surrounding parity in voting, and how to get involved in voter registration.
1.0 hours of CLE will be available. Cost is free (consider making a donation below), but please register to attend. The Zoom meeting link will be sent out before the event.

RAFFLE: You can support the bar foundations! In lieu of the originally planned (pre-pandemic) catered lunch, you can still support locally-owned women and minority-owned businesses, and the bar foundations, by purchasing $10 raffle tickets for a chance to win $25 gift certificates to the following restaurants: Sala + Betty, Aster’s Ethiopian Restaurant, Hoover’s, and El Mesón.
How to Enter the Raffle: 1. Make your donation to one or more of the foundations below (each $10 increment buys one ticket, so $10 = 1 ticket, $50 = 5 tickets, $100 = 10 tickets). Email us the number of raffle tickets you’ve purchased, at firstname.lastname@example.org. 3. Winners will be announced at the end of Thursday’s presentation.
