Entertainment & Sports Law Section CLE

Topic: The CASE Act: Power to Creatives or Copyright Trolls?
Speakers: Chris Castle, Christian L. Castle, Attorneys; JT Morris, JT Morris Law; Blake Cunningham, King & Spalding LLP; Gwendolyn Seale, Mike Tolleson and Associates

The Copyright Alternative in Small-Claims Enforcement Act of 2019 (the “CASE Act”), has been subject to much debate. On the one hand, a small-claims court as an alternative to Federal Court will allow frustrated creatives to pursue copyright infringement of their work when they otherwise may not be able to afford to. On the other hand, the CASE Act has been criticized for creating more problems in the copyright landscape and making it easier for copyright trolls to wreak havoc. Join ESLABA as we invite a panel comprised of attorneys Chris Castle (Christian L. Castle, Attorneys) JT Morris (JT Morris Law) and Blake Cunningham (King & Spalding LLP) to discuss the topic.
