Equity Committee Virtual Panel Discussion

History of Equity in the Austin Bar 1970-2020:
So Much Progress…so much to be Done

The  Austin Bar’s Equity Committee invites you to join this virtual panel discussion featuring distinguished local judges and  attorneys who have faced challenges due to race, ethnicity, and gender and who have persevered to emerge successful in their careers.

Photos and statistics from local historical archives will demonstrate the remarkable progress made in fifty years to include and welcome all into the courts and bar associations of Travis County.  Panelists will share their stories and frank observations about what work is still required to achieve equity and  inclusiveness for all who aspire to the practice of law.

Moderated by Judge Maya Guerra Gamble, confirmed panelists include former State Bar President Richard Peña, Judge Todd Wong,  and UT Law Professor/Trial Advocacy Director Tracy McCormack, with more to be added soon.

Once you register, you’ll receive a confirmation message with a link to the Zoom meeting and password. If you have any questions, contact Nancy at
