Part I: Preventing Opiate Overdose – Naloxone and Other Strategies (9:30 – 11:30 a.m.)

In the midst of this nation’s worse drug epidemic and being that overdoses have become the leading cause of unintentional deaths in our country, the workshop will focus on the current trends and historical context of how we got here. We will teach all attendees how to recognize, respond and evaluate opioid overdoses and how to administer the lifesaving medication naloxone.

LUNCH ON YOUR OWN (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) –

Part II: Medication Assisted Treatment for Opiate Use Disorder (1:30 – 3:30 p.m.)

This presentation will provide participants an opportunity to learn about opioid use and treatment thru the use of medication assisted therapy.
