Explore what the Austin Bar offers members
Austin Bar members can join one or more of our 25 substantive law sections. Sections meet throughout the year — many meet monthly — to offer practice-area CLE and other networking opportunities for section members. Sections are an excellent way to interact with other attorneys who share your area of practice.
Through the Austin Bar’s 14 committees, members can become involved in various community and law-related activities. Our committees span a wide range of activities, including overseeing the Austin Lawyer publication, building relationships with the judiciary, working with schoolchildren, and creating new benefits and innovative CLE for members.
Lawyer well-being and Assistance Programs
Practicing law can be a high-stress profession. The Lawyer Well-Being Committee leads the way in providing resources and programs to help Austin attorneys maintain a healthy work/life balance. The Austin Bar, Austin Bar Foundation, and AYLA offer several programs to help attorneys battling substance abuse or depression. These include monthly support groups, practice assistance, and short-term financial help for treatment and medication.
