Explore what we have to offer the Central Texas community.
Community Projects
The Austin Bar Association organizes several projects within the community, including People’s Law School, Adoption Day, and free legal advice clinics for Veterans. Central Texans who are unhappy with how much they have been charged by lawyers may also fill out a form for a fee dispute, and if both parties agree, the Austin Bar will hold a formal mediation between the attorney and client.
Legal Education
The Austin Bar Association helps attorneys go into schools and classrooms to help teachers with legal-related lessons and instruction. One of our most popular projects is Pick Me! A Jury of My Peers, where lawyers and judges go into high school classrooms to teach juniors and seniors about serving on a jury and upholding civic responsibility.

Law Day
The Austin Bar Association also participates in the nationally recognized Law Day. To encourage community involvement in the celebration, the Austin Bar invites high school students to enter essay contests, while also offering Law Day-themed poster contests for elementary school students. Cash prizes are usually given to the top three winners, and all winners are invited to participate in the Austin Bar’s Law Day luncheon.
