Austin Bar Foundation

Supporting and expanding the provision of legal-related charitable and education programs in Central Texas.

The 18th Annual Austin Bar Foundation Virtual Gala was held on Thursday, January 28, 2021. The theme of the gala was “Around the World,” celebrating our diversity and illustrating the idea that despite our differences, we are all connected and all part of the human race.  To view the virtual photo booth taken during the Gala, CLICK HERE.

The gala is held annually to raise funds for the Austin Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Austin Bar Association. The mission of the Austin Bar Foundation is to support and expand the provision of legal-related charitable and educational programs and services in Central Texas by organizing and marshaling  the resources and abilities of the Austin Bar Association and its members.

Contributions to the Foundation Gala and the Fellows Program help fund a variety of service projects including the Veterans Assistance Programs, the Self-Represented Litigant Project at the Travis County Law Library and Self-Help Center, Austin Adoption Day, the CANLAW Clinic, the Justice Mack Kidd Fund, the Diversity Fellowship Program, and the LGBT Law Student Scholarship.

The Fund-A- Need portion of the auction  directly benefited the Austin Bar Foundation grant program.  Approximately $20,000 in grants are given annually to local legal-related organizations such as American Gateways, Volunteer Legal Services, Austin Community Law Center, Texas Fair Defense Club, and many others.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of several special award winners. The awards are given to the Austin lawyers and judges who have excelled in their professions and service to their communities.
