This presentation will cover the statutory changes to the property code from the last legislative session. The legislature amended the eminent domain statute in significant ways, including an amended landowners' bill of rights, mandatory terms for easement conveyances, and the landowners' right of repurchase. The presentation will also include practical tips for planning for or responding to a condemnation action.
Speaker: Clint Harbour, Assistant Attorney General, State of Texas - Clint serves as an Assistant Attorney General, representing the State of Texas in condemnation cases. He coordinates the trial advocacy training for the Office of the Attorney General and teaches trial skills at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. Originally from Liberty, Texas, Clint attended the University of Texas where he earned his undergraduate and law degrees. He also earned an L.L.M. in International Law and Human Rights from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
