Sidebar: The Criminal Bar in Travis County

Join us for the first installment of our new Sidebar series: Sidebar: The Criminal Bar in Travis County. This conversational CLE will feature Selena Alvarenga, presiding judge of the 460th Criminal District Court, criminal defense attorney Pedro Villalobos, partner at Cofer & Connelly, and a prosecutor discussing what it is actually like to practice criminal law in Travis County.

The panel will explore the day-to-day realities of criminal practice, including what a typical work week looks like, the culture and professionalism of the criminal bar, relationships between lawyers and the court, and what the public may misunderstand about the criminal justice system. The discussion will also focus on ethical obligations, professionalism, and the customs and expectations that shape criminal practice in Travis County.
