The Texas Indigent Defense Commission reminds attorneys who accept appointments criminal and juvenile law cases of the annual percentage of practice report which is due by October 15, 2022. The online report is very short, reflecting for each county where the attorneys practiced the percentage of their practice spent on appointed and criminal law cases during the last year. Family Fall FestivalIt's FALL, Y'ALL! Attend our Family Friendly Festival on October 29th from 10am- 1pm at Hilgers House. This is the first event organized by our new Social/Family Friendly Events Committee. It's a great way to promote comradery amongst your peers and extend it to your family. The festival is FREE. The Austin Bar Foundation’s Veterans Legal Assistance Program WINS a $1k grant from Austin Community Foundation through its Community Grant Program. The grant will be used for new equipment to aid the program. Kudos to Veterans Legal Assistance Program staff Doug Lawrence and Leslie Spatola on submitting a great application to make this happen. They, along with our members, spend countless hours ensuring the program is impactful in the community.

Attorney volunteers will provide brief legal advice in their preferred practice area(s) to veterans in need. Walk-ins are welcome or veterans may pre-register online.  Sign up starts at 1:30 p.m. and please sign in before 3:30 p.m.
