Join the Austin Young Lawyers Health and Wellness Committee for an afternoon on the lake. Bring your kayak, canoe, or paddle board (or rent one there), and meet us at the Texas Rowing Center dock on July 23 at 10:00am. A cooler of beverages will be provided, but feel free to also bring your own. We’ve also ordered another batch of AYLA shirts, which will be given out if they arrive on time. Register here.

Attorney volunteers will provide brief legal advice in their preferred practice area(s) to veterans in need. Walk-ins are welcome or veterans may pre-register online.  Sign up starts at 1:30 p.m. and please sign in before 3:30 p.m.

The Veterans Legal Assistance Program is seeking Volunteer ESTATE PLANNING Attorneys to assist veterans, active and reserve duty military, and their families with drafting estate planning documents.

Gillespie County’s Veterans Service Officer, Tami King, is hosting a free estate planning clinic for eligible residents of Gillespie County and surrounding areas. Volunteers will be given contact information and completed estate planning questionnaires from the project coordinator on July 29, 2022. Volunteers will have the opportunity to speak with their assigned client(s) over the phone to discuss any questions or concerns about the estate planning documents. Once finalized, volunteers will be asked to return the completed forms to the project coordinator so that they may be printed, reviewed and notarized with the applicant during their appointment time at the legal clinic on August 25, 2022. Volunteers will not be required to attend the clinic but are welcome to join if schedule allows.
