Session: AI, Ethics, and the Fear of Breaching Privilege
As AI becomes more embedded in the legal workflow, concerns about confidentiality, privilege, and data security are at an all-time high. This session will provide a framework for evaluating technology vendors, understanding compliance standards, and distinguishing between generative AI and traditional speech recognition tools.

Sean Hightower is a partner at Hightower, Franklin, & James PLLC, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He serves as Director for the Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital District and sits on the Board of Directors for TCDLA. Named Outstanding Young Alumnus by the SFA Alumni Association in 2020, Sean’s practice focuses on State and Federal Criminal Defense. In 2022, he won a $1.7 million whistleblower case against the Texas Department of Public Safety, and since 2023, his firm has secured more than $85 million for clients.
