The deadline for applications for the David H. Walter Community Excellence Award has been extended until Oct. 1, 2025.

The recipient of the award will be honored at the 2026 Austin Bar Foundation Gala.

We invite you to nominate an Austin Bar member who has recently made a significant impact in the community and, at the same time, raised the profile of the profession.

Nominate someone here.

The 2025 Pro Bono Fall Festival has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Please note: You will need to bring your own chair, and the costume contest is still on.

Last year, this great, family-friendly event, co-hosted by the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Bar Foundation, raised more than $8,000 to provide free legal services to individuals in Travis and adjoining counties. All sponsorship packages include tickets to the event, where you and your family can enjoy:

- Halloween costume contest for children and adults

- Face painting

- Magic show

- Bouncy house

- Balloon art

- Food truck

- Kona shaved ice truck

- Cotton candy

and more!

You can still purchase tickets and sponsorships. Please note: The deadline to be featured on the sponsor poster at the event has passed, but new sponsors will be added to the poster featured in the December/January issue of Austin Lawyer.
