Join the Austin Bar Animal Law Section on Sunday, March 27th, from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm for a special behind-the-scenes tour of Austin Animal Center. After the tour, we will gather for a Kong-stuffing party to help our shelter dogs! This child-friendly event is open to Austin Bar Association and AYLA members and their families. Space is limited, so please sign up as soon as possible here.

No Spring Break Plans? For the month of March, the Austin Young Lawyers Association will be working with the Green Corn Project—an Austin non-profit that educates Central Texans on organic vegetable farming. Come get your hands dirty on Saturday, March 19th from 8:45 am to 12:00 pm and help plant a garden for individuals with limited access to nutritious food! No experience? No problem—we will have an experienced gardener leading us through the gardening process. All ages welcome and we encourage you to bring your kids. Limited spots are available so sign up now!

IT'S A "HOMECOMING!" Join us at the Austin Country Club for our annual Gala beginning at 7pm on April 22!  This semi-formal event is like one you’ve never seen! Whether you’re seated as a sponsor or prefer to stand on the sidelines as an individual attendee, we have something for you! The annual gala is held to raise funds for the Austin Bar Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Austin Bar Association. Marion "Sandy" Sanford, Jr. died last week. During his long and legendary legal career, Sandy pioneered the practice and role of the lawyer-lobbyist in Texas state government. His work impacted the statutory framework of virtually every area of business, government, and political activity. He achieved recognition as one of the most influential lawyers in the country and was consistently documented as one of the best lobbyists in Texas. Read his obituary here.
