Mastering Stage Presence for Attorneys: This program is specifically designed for Plaintiff's Personal Injury Lawyers, Business and Employment Litigators, and Criminal Defense Attorneys. We've put together folks from the theater and acting world who will share their methods with lawyers, especially younger lawyers, to improve their trial and courtroom performance skills.  Workshop max is 40 lawyers, and we can accommodate an additional 10-15.

Former Austin Bar President Claude Ducloux has created the Cheryl Ischy Professionalism Award with the Capital Area Paralegal Association. This award for $250 is open to any paralegal, not just CAPA members, and requires an essay, 500 words or less, from the nominator about the nominee. The essay should address the nominee's abilities in organization, communication, legal skills, initiative, adaptability, analysis, deductive reasoning, teamwork, and overall professionalism. Please include the nominee's name, phone number, and email address. Send submissions to scholarship@capatx.org. The winner will be announced on Friday, April 12, 2024, at CAPA's 10th annual Spring CLE.

Continuing its mission of strengthening the image and position of women lawyers in the community, the Travis County Women Lawyers Association began its annual spring Awards Luncheon to recognize and celebrate the contributions of the women members of the local bar. The awards are meant to highlight the significant, but often unseen contributions made by many women in our legal community. Nominations are now being accepted for the annual TCWLA attorney awards. Former Austin Bar and State Bar of Texas President Richard Pena will lead two international legal delegations this year.

The first is to Ireland, Sept. 17-27.

The second is to Austria, Dec. 9-15.
